pisces

August 22, 2009

i’ve always followed my horoscope because most of the time its pretty dead on–at least for the past year. i also really follow astrology and believe in zodiac signs as a way to learn more about people and the universe. as a pisces, i am 100% that of what people say holds qualities of a pisces. recently, this was my horoscope one day and i look back on it every once in a while to help remind me that all the struggles i’ve gone through have been worth it, its made me into the person i am today and that i’m headed down the right path. so enjoy…

Like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, you’ve taken some pretty tough circumstances and used them to grow. Now you’re developing into something lovely and fantastic beyond your wildest imaginings. During times like these, it’s good to remember how grateful you are — not only for the easy things in your life, but for the tough circumstances as well. They’ve shaped you into someone amazing.

never alone…

August 21, 2009

as most of you who are reading this blog know… i use song lyrics to express my feelings all the time.  everytime i hear a new song, somehow the lyrics always call out exactly as to what i’m thinking or feeling at that point of time in my life.   lately i’ve dealt with falling in love and learning to let go, at the same time i’ve dealt with surrendering my life completely and trusting that God has a marvelous plan for my life.  one thing that surprised me mostly about my last relationship was the fact that i wasn’t upset or hurt when it was all done with; i was for once calm, quiet, and content.  i had recently lifted up the relationship to God and was hoping that he would bless it as well as the other person involved.

**side note. the past year i’ve daily prayed for specific family and friends, however when it comes to me i’ve prayed for the safety and well-being of my future husband (whoever and wherever he may be–only God knows at this point :)).  therefore, this past four months i’ve felt compelled (i dont know why but i did) to pray for this other person (who shall not be named). when things seemed to be heading south for the two of us i felt the need to pray for his future wife. i’ve prayed that they would both love each other unconditionally, with respect, and take care of each other everyday for the rest of their lives.  I’ve prayed that their marriage be blessed with lots of joy and happiness, and the kind of love I only wish to have with my husband.   I know that God has a wonderful plan for his life, at least thats all that I would wish for him.

now that i’ve rambled… back to where i was heading.  i heard this song one day when i was having a hard time letting go but knew that i had to because i felt like this wasn’t a relationship where God was leading  me.  i literally broke down in the car when never alone by lady antebellum came on my ipod.  they were not tears of sadness, rather tears of understanding and happiness. tears of feeling a burden being lifted off my shoulders.  i dont know if this is how other people feel when listening to this song, however i felt a huge sense of relief that i didn’t have to be mad that the relationship was over but that i could literally still love the other person and wish the best for his life all the while moving on with mine and trusting more in God.

so… let this song have a special meaning for you, whatever it may be:

May the angels protect you
Trouble neglect you
And heaven accept you when its time to go home
May you always have plenty
The glass never empty
Know in your belly
You’re never alone

May your tears come from laughing
You find friends worth having
With every year passing
They mean more than gold
May you win but stay humble
Smile more than grumble
And know when you stumble
You’re never alone

Chorus: Never alone
Never alone
I’ll be in every beat of your heart
When you face the unknown
Wherever you fly
This isn’t goodbye
My love will follow you stay with you
Baby you’re never alone

well
I have to be honest
As much as I wanted
I’m not gonna promise that the cold winds won’t blow
So when hard times have found you
And your fears surround you
Wrap my love around you
You’re never alone

Chorus

May the angels protect you
Trouble neglect you
And heaven accept you when its time to go home
And when hard times have found you
And your fears surround you
Wrap my love around you
You’re never alone

Chorus

My love will follow you stay with you
Baby you’re never alone

Proverbs 3: 3-6:

3 let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. 5 trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

….i need to make God a vital part of everything i do; because as he guides me i will be working to accomplish his purpose.

the unknown…

August 15, 2009

i for one am the type of person that doesn’t like not knowing what lies ahead. i’ve always had school to look forward to, or work. the past three months i’ve been enjoying my summer by traveling and hanging out with friends and family, working out, and simply just doing nothing in particular; really this whole summer i’ve just been distracting myself while waiting for my orders to finally arrive. last week i finally received my orders in a way, i now know that i have to report to fort sam houston, san antonio, tx. on october 14. i’ll be there for my Nurse Officer Basic Leadership Course till mid december. that is the first part of my orders, however the “unknown” that is bothering me now is as to where i will be headed after OBLC. since i requested to be stationed in germany, italy, or hawaii… the unknown has gotten to me. i just want to know if i’m going to be overseas or if i’m going to be in the u.s. without this information its hard to figure out packing, car situation, phone situation, etc. i still feel like i can’t get anything done without this information. however i still keep hearing my orders are “in process”, a phrase i’ve come all to familiar with.

over the past few months i’ve recommitted myself to God and have put my trust in him daily. at times its hard to put all my trust in him and to give up total control of my life to him. i dont like not being in control, however i know that if i give up full control of my life then i am allowing God to use me in my full capacity to benefit his kingdom. i dont know what lies ahead of me, nor what God has planned for my life; however when the anxiety starts to form in the middle of my chest i’ve been encouraged by Jeremiah 29: 11-13:

11 “for i know the plans i have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and i will listen to you. 13 you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

…. so here’s to trusting that God has a life filled with happiness and success waiting for me. most importantly, hopefully i can be a faithful servant in his kingdom doing whatever he has planned for my life 🙂

just testing the waters

August 10, 2009

well i’m new at this… obviously.  i’m a huge introvert and i love to people watch, so this has led to a life of keeping alot of things in my head but not letting it out.  hopefully, this is one way that i can express what is going on in my mind and to give the world a little glimpse of it as well.

so… just testing the waters in whether i like this or not.  welcome to my journey and enjoy my thoughts 🙂
