It’s October which means goons and gobblins, spiders and crows. It’s also the time for scary movies.  I’m not one for a horror film but some I can tolerate.  M is BIG into gore movies.  So here is the selections we picked up the other day.

Looking for Houses!

October 17, 2010

Since I’m staying in Texas till my contract with the army is done, I decided I wanted to buy a house and not pay for someone else’s mortgage, rather put my “rent” money towards my own assets.  So, for the past three weeks i’ve been looking for houses on my own.  I didn’t even tell M what I was thinking, just looked online and found some houses i liked and ones i didn’t like. I contacted one of the realtors in order to look at one of the houses and M overheard my conversation and questioned my thinking…. and fell in love with the idea!  so… the house search has begun with him having imput now also 🙂

so thursday night when i was at the Luke Bryan/Jason Aldean concert M kept texting me that he had a surprise for me Friday morning when he got off work.  so, Friday morning i’m thinking we are going to Ihop for all you can eat pancakes (M has been raving about it all week), or we are going to enroll him in school, i dont know.  M comes pick me up at the apartment in his work clothes, i ask do you want to change, he says no we’ll be fine.  all he tells me is that we are going to see a mustang that he’s looking at.  we’ve been on the freeway for half an hour and he tells me we are going to lewisville, tx and for me to look up the address.  low and behold, my jaw drops when i see how far it is… forty min past Dallas, Tx.  mind you it is 0900 in the morning, Dallas takes 2 1/2 hours already. so i start crunching the numbers in my head. the Sugarland concert is in Dallas at 730pm and we planned to leave with my friend Jenny and Krystal at 400.  because matt is still in his work clothes we’d have to go back to Fort Hood to get the tickets and for matt to change.  we have just enough time to get to lewisville, look at the car for an hour or so because we need to be on our way home by 1pm so we can make it back to Fort Hood exactly at 400.  just enough time for him to change and to grab the tickets.

we take the car out for a drive and m asks the guy to crunch the numbers.  thirty min later the guy still hasn’t come back yet with what he’s looking to spend.  m agrees to what is offered so now we have to go talk to the finance guy… its 1 at this point. im annoyed because now we are going to be late.  we sat in the waiting room till 1:45 before the finance guy saw us… at this point im texting Jenny saying you and Krystal are gonna have to drive on your own.  and here is the link to the tickets along with my ticketmaster code so she can print off two of the tickets.  finally m signs all the papers, we rush to get to his truck so we can empty it out and we are on the road by 2:30.

now the part of the story that annoys the crap out of me.  So apparently the Texas State Fair was going on this weekend at the same time the concert was, and the state fair has taken ALL the parking.  If you are going to the concert you have to park on the streets… well since we were getting to Dallas around 8:15, the fair is getting emptied out and cops have all the streets blocked.  I was driving, and was getting so frustrated cause we couldn’t park ANYWHERE and the cops had all the left hand turn lanes blocked.  All streets were blocked, all business parking lots were blocked… so at 8:45 after driving around for 30 min I start crying because this is all his fault! lol. I tell him forget it, we are driving back home I’m not dealing with this… he tells me no, park right there! So we find parking in this shady area but its right by the enterance to the State Fair.  the concert hall is on the opposite side of where we are… i ask if we can walk through the state fair to get over there… im told no, you have to walk around.  So, we start walking through the ghetto to get to the other side… about 30 min later we finally get to the concert hall. JUST in time for Sugarlands 1st song.  M turns to me and says “See… its about the destination, not the journey” and he’s laughing… my response… i hope that mustang was worth it, lets just find Jenny! lol.

alright well i feel like i’ve rambled on about something you dont care about. but the concert was worth it once we got there.  Jennifer Nettles is the most energetic person i’ve ever seen before.  She is constantly dancing and running around that stage… awesome show.

ode to the concert goer

October 8, 2010

last night my friend Jenny and I had floor seats to the Jason Aldean Wide Open 2010 concert featuring Luke Bryan.  It was awesome!!! That was the second best concert I’ve been to.  #1 concert was back in May at Dallas, Brooks & Dunn featuring Jason Aldean. Tonight is the Little Big Town/Sugarland Concert in Dallas…which i am VERY excited about.   But this isn’t a post about the concert.  No words would do them justice–you just had to be there!

here’s to the heffers standing in front of me. i appreciate your friend fist pumping the air the whole time and when she did this you noticed and followed in suit.  i appreciate that your big ass head blocked my view most of the night and when i swayed to the left or right to see around you, you also followed in suit and therefore blocked my view again.  i appreciate you singing every lyric to your best friend–im sure she appreciated it.  i appreciate your friend using multiple modes of camera/camcorder and phone views to take pictures and video of the concert ALL NIGHT long… her hands up in the air were an awesome view.  i also appreciate you making heart signs with your hands that were aimed at jason all night… again an awesome view.  i also appreciate you yelling “i love you jason” and making a phone sign with your hand when he looked our way.  i really feel like he’ll call you, wait by the phone. And lastly i appreciate you freaking out when Jason said “maybe i’ll meet you out at the bars tonight” TO THE CROWD!!!

here’s to the bitch behind me calling her “best friend” and ex on the phone during both intermissions.  i appreciate the screaming in my ear that you were gonna “beat a bitch down when you get back to Enis”– your like 2 lbs. i doubt you’ll be doing that.  i appreciate learning a multitude of new names for when i need to start name-calling.  i appreciate EVERYONE around me looking my direction thinking it is me.  i appreciate you yelling i hate assholes, cause really when thirty people are looking at you cause you’ve yelled and they are hearing your conversation, your not an asshole at all.  right?  i appreciate your boyfriend telling you to be quiet, which only made you want to scream louder.  i also appreciate you yelling that your pissed and need a beer, i think thats the last thing you need right now.  also, i appreciate you yelling on a voicemail to your ex to call you the f@*# back, i really doubt he’ll call when your in medusa mode.  and to my surprise he calls back and i learn he’s been spreading rumors that you guys are screwing again… if he’s smart he wouldn’t be spreading those because you are a downgrade i am sure.

All in all, these were entertaining additions to the concert, hopefully tonight will be just as eventful and i will have updates i am sure.  otherwise, have a good weekend!!!!
